Hummer Offering the towing capability that only a V-8 can, the 2008 H3 Alpha broadens HUMMER's range of versatile, do-anything and go-anywhere vehicles. HUMMER announced the H3 Alpha at the New York Auto Show; it goes on sale this summer.

The H3 Alpha is the second member of HUMMER's exclusive Alpha series, representing the pinnacle of performance, both off the road and on it. It comes with a new, 5.3L V-8 engine that delivers 295 horsepower (224 kW)* and 317 lb.-ft. of torque (438 Nm)*. It is partnered with a four-speed automatic transmission and enables a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds (2,721 kg) - an increase of more than 33 percent over other H3 models

"H3 Alpha is, simply, the ultimate HUMMER H3," said Martin Walsh, HUMMER general manager. "It delivers all of H3's renowned off-road capability, but with enhanced performance that is suited to a variety of lifestyles."

In addition to the V-8 engine, the H3 Alpha also includes the popular "Luxury" equipment package, the Chrome Appearance package, 16-inch chrome wheels, a 4.10 rear axle ratio and special Alpha identification, including a prominent tailgate badge, horn pad badge and embroidered front headrests with the "Alpha" insignia.

For customers who want a more accessorized appearance straight from the factory, the Alpha model can be combined with the H3 X content, which includes bright roof crossbows, chrome fuel door, a body-color grille and unique spare tire cover, tires, wheels and center cap, and a brush guard. Additionally, HUMMER Accessories offers an exclusive line of GM-designed, manufactured and validated accessories that are engineered and tested for no-compromises fit, finish and performance

"Because HUMMER stands for more than just off-road performance, the H3 Alpha builds on the style and refinement of the H3 lineup and offers a unique, instantly recognizable statement on the road," said Walsh. "In short, the H3 Alpha matches HUMMER's off-road expectations with on-road attitude."

Award-winning interior and safety enhancements
The H3 Alpha shares the same widely admired interior as all H3 models, including detail revisions and enhancements that have been implemented across the lineup. New child safety locks for the rear doors and easier-to-use power window switches were introduced during the '07 model year and reflect customers' input.

"Details matter, and our customers told us these details were particularly important, so we updated the H3 lineup to address them," said Walsh.
Also new for the H3 Alpha and the entire 2008 H3 lineup are standard head curtain side air bags; they were previously optional. Additional standard safety features now found on all H3 models include:
StabiliTrak electronic stability control system Four-wheel antilock brakes with traction control
Dual front air bags with Passenger Sensing System Tire pressure monitoring system

Ferrari-F430

2006 Ferrari F430 news, pictures, and information
The F430 hails the arrival of a whole new generation of Ferrari V8-engined berlinettas. Every inch of the car was inspired by the engineering research carried out at Ferrari's Gestione Sportiva F1 racing division. The result is a highly innovative design characterized by cutting-edge technologies perfected for use on a road-going car. Two of these innovations are world firsts for production cars; electronic differential (E-Diff) initially developed by Ferrari for its F1 single-seaters and designed to make the most of the engine's torque to optimize traction.
The handily placed steering wheel-mounted commutator switch (better known to the Scuderia's drivers as the manettino) which directly controls the integrated systems governing vehicle dynamics. The F430's light, compact 4,308 cc engine is completely new and gives the car its name. It punches out 490 hp and delivers a specific power output of 114 hp/l and 465 Nm of torque. Needless to say, performance is outstanding: acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 4 seconds flat and a maximum speed in excess of 315 km/h.

Every area of this latest Prancing Horse car has been influenced by Formula 1. For instance, owners can order a braking system using carbon-ceramic discs which offer superior stopping power and give the driver the satisfying feeling of being in complete control of the vehicle even in the most demanding situations. The F430's aerodynamics are also highly innovative for a road car; its shape has been honed to generate special flows to increase down force and improve cooling. Every last component of this new Ferrari has been perfected to deliver outstanding performance and maximum driving pleasure.

Style
The F430's nose is characterised by two distinctive air intakes that channel air into generously dimensioned radiators to cool the powerful engine. The two intakes are linked at their lower edge by a spoiler that directs the air towards the car's flat underbody. The F430's vertically stacked headlights are extremely compact thanks to the use of Bi-xenon technology. Large air vents just ahead of the front wheels channel the air out of the radiators and along the car's flanks. Generous scoops at the top of the rear wheelarches channel air into the engine. The side view is completed by the new 19' wheels with the 5 twin-spoke layout that combine classic Ferrari design flair with exceptional levels of structural rigidity combined with light weight.

The Enzo Ferrari was the inspiration for much of the rear styling of the new F430. The type and arrangement of the lights are the same with the latter protruding quite prominently from the bodywork. Another similarity is the shape of the air vent for the engine with the chrome Prancing Horse at its centre.

Engine
The F430 is powered by a new 90° V8 featuring Ferrari's traditionally uncompromising design approach with a flat-plane crank (180° between throws). This is an all-new unit that does not share any components with the 360 Modena's engine. The improvement in terms of performance, weight and reduction of overall dimensions is the result of applying Ferrari's wealth of F1 experience to its road cars. Despite a 20% increase in engine displacement (from 3586 cc to 4308 cc), engine weight has grown minimally by just 4 kg, while performance is considerably improved across the board. Torque increases by 25% (343 lb-ft at 5250 rpm, 80% of which is already available at 3500 rpm) and power by 23% (490 bhp at 8500 rpm). The engine is extremely compact with a cylinder spacing of just 104 mm. Similarly, Ferrari's engineers integrated the sump and main bearings in a single casting which, along with a smaller diameter twin-plate clutch and flywheel, has reduced the engine height between the bottom of the oil sump and the crankshaft to just 130 mm (from 145 mm on the 360 Modena power unit).

Ferrari_F430-hamann

From Hamann Press Release  The engineers of sports-car specialist HAMANN have designed a comprehensive aerodynamics package for the Ferrari F430, taking up elements from motorsports and simultaneously presenting pure understatement. In the development of the HAMANN F430 this aspect was well to the fore as well as optimizing weight and performance. The innovatively designed front spoiler gives the HAMANN F430 a striking and individual face and minimizes the lift force at the front axle. Wide side sills impart a broader appearance to the Italian car and also a more dominant roadholding. They specially underscore the dynamic line of the basic model. At the back the newly designed rear diffuser catches the eye and the rear spoiler ensures a higher downforce at the rear axle. The HAMANN aerodynamics components do not only mean an optical upgrading, but above all a remarkable increase regarding driving performance – this is proven by the fact that all add-on parts are optionally available in carbon-kevlar or fiberglass version. This makes the HAMANN Ferrari F430 definitely a powerful road-racing car, which causes a sensation!

Performance plays an important role in motorsports. This is also true for the HAMANN Ferrari F430. The HAMANN engineers have developed a complete high-performance sports exhaust system including a high-performance collector and sports catalysts. The result of this largescale modification is a performance increase of in all 48 hp, that has a correspondingly positive effect on the car´s performance. The four-branch sports rear mufflers, specially designed by HAMANN, release an absolutely powerful and sonorous sound reminding you of the background noise at a racetrack. The Laupheim company optionally offers a second tailpipe version with two tailpipes per side including throttle control.
More driving pleasure in the HAMANN Ferrari F430 can be expected of the specially designed coil suspension. The HAMANN suspension can be adjusted in height as well as in rebound and compression, thus the F430 reacts definitely more agile and more precisely to steering changes and therefore offers remarkably sportier driving dynamics.

The HAMANN Ferrari F430 is bridled by a sports brake system at the front axle, which has been adapted correspondingly to its performance. The brake system guarantees exact deceleration and permanent control of the racy Italian car from Swabia.
HAMANN stakes on a motorsports look also regarding the rims of the Ferrari F430. The multi-piece PG3 in classic five-spoke design gives an extremely powerful impression and allows a good look at the brake system. The PG3 is available in 9x19-inch dimension with tires size 255/30ZR19 front and in 11,5x19-inch dimension with tires size 295/30ZR19 or 13x19-inch dimension with tires size 355/25ZR19 at the rear axle. Alternatively you can choose the also multi-piece, forged ANNIVERSARY II. Its fine spokes clearly show the sporty character of the Swabian F430 and allow a good look at the brake system. The ANNIVERSARY II is available for the HAMANN Ferrari F430 in 9x19-inch dimension with tires size 255/30ZR19 front and 12,5x19-inch dimension with tires size 355/25ZR19 rear as well as 8,5x20-inch dimension with tires 235/30ZR20 for the front axle and 12,5x20-inch
dimension with tires size 335/25ZR20 for the rear axle. Brand new is the HAMANN alloy wheel “EDITION RACE” in 20 inch. It is available in 8,5 x 20 for the front axle and 12 x 20 for the rear.
The interior of the HAMANN Ferrari F430 is a successful mixture of luxurious and sporty features. An exclusive full leather interior in all colors as well as a high-quality set of mats give an elegant impression. Suiting racing seats and sills create motorsports feeling.
No doubt, the HAMANN Ferrari F430 is a pure-blooded racing car with road licensing, surely causing astonished and admiring looks. The driver, however, is offered optimal driving pleasure and individuality.

Ferrari_Dino_Concept

Ferrari Dino Concept design is the modernized version of the successful Ferrari Dino produced by Ferrari. The goal was to create a car that feels stylish, modern, dynamic and organic while staying true to the original design language of the Ferrari Dino and Ferrari brand in general.
he main characteristic of the Dino Concept design is the way it looks similar to the original Dino. With very round styling elements around the wheelbases and its cockpit, it looks retro and modern at the same time. With the right proportions combined, the car looks very dynamic and stylish. It stays true to its original with the design of the rear and the front being rounded and avoiding the hard edges as much as possible. Also the rear window opening is a striking feature originating from the original Ferrari Dino. The air intakes scoops however are very different compared to the original Dino, they look very organic and visually add a very organic feel to the car.
The Ferrari Dino Concept is a modern re-interpretation of the original Dino created by Ugur Sahin for Dubai's "Wheels Magazine".As Ugur Sahin explains "the goal was to create a car that feels stylish, modern, dynamic and organic while staying true to the original design language of the Ferrari Dino and Ferrari brand in general." [...] It stays true to its original with the design of the rear and the front being rounded and avoiding the hard edges as much as possible."One of the main differences between this concept and the original Dino lies in the new air intakes, that are characterized by an organic design.

Saleen S7

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo (Production 2000 - Present) The limited edition Saleen S7 is a coupe hand built as a joint project by Hidden Creek Industries, Sallen, RML and Phil Frank Design. The vehicle was produced solely in Irvine, California by Saleen.
The Saleen S7 is considered by some to be the original true US production supercar (certified). The car was first seen at the Moenterey Races, packing 550 horsepower in the engine bay. Later though (2005) the S7 Twin Turbo took over having a more powerful twin-turbo engine that meant a powerful 750 horsepower, and raised the top speed to an estimated 250 Miles Per Hour (402 Kilometers Per Hour).
Forbes have this car rated as number one and we agree with them, its also one of America's most expensive cars so unfortunately unless you are a millionaire it is unlikely that you will get the chance to own one. With a price tag of just over 567,000 US dollars this is truly a car for the elite.
Model Speed Price Country
S7 Twin Turbo 240-260 MPH $567,200US
The Saleen S7R holds the fastest lap records (in its class) for the Monza Raceway.
Initially back in 2002 when it originally went on sale the S7 was the only car packing more than 500 horsepower that was street-legal in the US. Numerous magazines have recognized this vehicle as the fastest car (production) in the world, reinforcing what we already thought.
